Create laws for e-bikes on public roads.
From "Welcome to The New Hampshire Forum!"
Go to the project
E-bikes and other non-traditional vehicles are proliferating on NH roads and public ways, such as sidewalks and rail trails, and currently do not require registration or driver training. Accidents and near accidents with such vehicles are increasing. Laws such as those governing the operation of mopeds on public roadways need to be made, regulating the operation of these vehicles if they are to travel on public property.

I was reading that ebike accidents are rapidly becoming the biggest health risk for children due to accidents that send kids to emergency rooms! There definitely needs to be better oversight for the safety of riders, and the general public. This should be based on age of rider as much as the type of ebike.

It'll be important, if/when such laws are made, to keep in mind that there are different classes of ebike - some that are limited to 20 mph and require the rider to pedal, some that are functionally motorcycles, and the different classes should be regulated differently.
