Democracy is the model of government which necessitates that all people in the nation are entitled to representation. So I agree that "We the people" should determine the laws and regulations, not businesses.
...however, the Supreme Court confirmed that corporations are PEOPLE too, so I guess this IS American Democracy 🤷♂️ (erghhhh)

not gonna work. there are many loopholes like ads from third parties which are virtually unlimited.
A better solution is representation by a citizens assembly (like jury system)
good luck implementing that however. politicians will never give up their power

Well, America was founded on taking power from tyrant's and giving the people representation...seems like we are better equipped than the founders, so it shouldn't be too difficult to repeat. 😊
