Expecting government to fix your problems

I have deep misgivings about an open ended request to "government" to fix my problems.
The structure of this request system itself makes my skin crawl.
It feels fraudulent and false. I have no confidence that this system is anything beyond astroturf engagement and election talking points for the obvious party.
The spin on the submissions leaves me cold.
How can I plausibly ask for freedom of choice in education, when I expect this will be twisted into a Volinsky pitch for more money for failed monopoly schools?
