Mental health & housing

SO many pressing issues now, honestly it’s hard to choose just one! All effect each other in one way or another. I believe mental health and affordable housing are 1st priority. Environmental issues, access to quality child care are also huge! I believe we all have to “chip away” a bit on ALL the issues before choosing the most important. We need to get community members comfortable in being engaging in community, or we continue to go up river without paddles. I’d love to help these efforts! We need a housing first model in NH communities. Without that, we have more people in our criminal justice system., which is even more expensive and unhelpful for anyone with mental health or substance abuse issues.

These issues are deeply interconnected. Limited access to quality education, mental health support, substance use services, stable housing, and resources all contribute to cycles of crime and involvement in the criminal justice system. The lack of equitable access to support and opportunity ultimately weakens individuals’ ability to build resilience and maintain stability.
