Property tax burden
From "Welcome to The New Hampshire Forum!"
Go to the project
Our "Live Free or Die" motto is no longer sustainable, and hasn't been sustainable for many years...evidence the difficulties in properly funding our schools at the State level, which has caused a devastating financial burden on every NH property owner, through constant local property tax increases.
It's time for New Hampshire to step away from the NO State taxes policy, and implement a 3% SALES TAX dedicated toward funding our schools, and ONLY our schools.
That way everyone participates in the cost of education...tourists...and residents alike

I'm not opposed to a sakes tax, but I don't trust politicians. Once they get their hands on a sales or income tax it's fair game to raise for their projects. And 3% becomes 5% , then comes what's the limit?

Not against the idea of a sales tax. But I want to dissociate the concept of funding education and funding SCHOOLS. If we want children that are well tooled for the modern world, we must be ready consider that our current education model is due for modernization as well.

@Mink Hyena agree. The school system itself needs to be looked at. It's failing the students. They don't look at other schools to improve their own school.
