Sales Tax

From "Welcome to The New Hampshire Forum!"

Go to the project

It's time for New Hampshire to make the Live Free or Die slogan a piece of history. Overtaxing the Home and business Real Estate owners is causing extreme financial difficulties throughout the Low and Middle income property owners, and there is no other way to increase School Funding, other than implementing a 3% +/- sales tax, whereby Everyone, of every demographic, Local, or Visitors to our State, This way, everyone, can contribute to the Dedicated funding of our schools, and we, the property owners can catch a break from this impossible situation

Public schooling is the bedrock of equality in America, and private schools have been and continue to be destabilizing that foundation. Separate, dedicated, consistent funding for public education must be given priority. This should be a state-wide tax to ensure equality in funding. Using property taxes only increases the inequality in our education system. Wealthy areas have excellent schools, while rural areas and inner city areas struggle to fund their schools. A state-wide, dedicated Public School Support Tax (for public schools only) would ensure that the children of less wealthy areas receive the same opportunities as their wealthy peers.
