Senior Housing and care crisis is not on the NH radar. 25,% of NH seniors live alone and have no one caring for them. 10K are good insecure and at risk of hunger. Many skip meals, Rx or heat. As of March 2023, Cross roads experienced 15% senior residents up from 11% the following year. We need safe affordable senior housing developments. I have ideas about this crisis and how our state can be more responsive to seniors needs. Seniors are forced out of their homes who are on fixed incomes due to Rising costs of rent/renovations & high prop tax.

Until the tax structure is fixed here in NH there really isn't much we can do to fix problems of this nature. The wealthy in this state have had a free ride and need to start paying their fair share. It's time for an income tax.

I agree with the original post. Right now, the wait time to get into senior housing in NH is 10 years!! That’s obscene! ( that stat was from someone I met at NH Housing Finance.) A part of the problem is that seniors housing gets diluted by allowing other groups to move in. ( younger disabled people) which these days can be almost anything. Our seniors keep being pushed aside because they’re not the squeaky wheel

I sold my house in Manchester 5 years ago and bought a manufactured home in Concord. The park where it is located has broken the original contract and every year they take away a service and raise the rent. I am 74 and on a fixed income.
