Most seniors are on a fixed income. City government does not reign in spending. Seniors do not have children in school.

They still use municipal services like police and fire. They still drive on plowed and maintained roads. They still rely on an educated population to provide for them. And importantly, their educations were paid for by those that came before them who didn’t necessarily have children in school.
