Stop adopting liberal ideology
From "Welcome to The New Hampshire Forum!"
Go to the project
For many years NH lived by conservative values. Now we are considered a purple state. We need to stop appeasing liberal transplants and their ideas. They flee their blue states like MA and CT to escape the absurdities and then try to make NH just like the place from which they escaped! Liberal policies are ruining our way of life; not only in NH but throughout our country. Don't try to change us, respect who we are or move somewhere else!

Do you want to talk about Reality? Almost ALL
of the Job Creation, MFG, Tax base, and GDP that funds our State comes from Rockingham and Hillsborough meaning Nashua, Seacoast and Manchester where most of the Democrats and MA blow ins live. They bring
the jobs and reduce OUR NH taxes, I always find it funny
when a person says they want conservative values
then talk about how their dislike INCREASES our taxes, decreases jobs and lowers GDP. We are adults now, we can let in anyone who is productive bc Jobs are not political

Born in bred in New Hampshire, as many of my social circle is, and we are all very liberal. It’s not just “out of staters” that think that things in New Hampshire need to change.
I’m not trying to make New Hampshire anything that it’s not, but as someone who has lived their entire life here, I think I’m entitled to an opinion about how my state operates.

We need to get rid of the Free Staters and expose the hypocrisy of conservatives who's only goal is to conserve their own wealth.

As someone who was raised conservative, it is respectfully this exact type of zero-sum thinking that has led to the fear-based tribalism that's destroyed our civic life. They are not "liberal transplants", they are people--simply fellow Americans with different ideas. I'd also disagree with your assertion that "who we are" as a state is conservative. There have always been homegrown New Hampshire citizens who are progressive, and there always will be. Freedom of speech, religion, and thought are foundational to a functioning democracy. Instead of labeling people as liberal, states as blue, and ideologies as absurd, we need to preserve democracy by preserving decorum and refuting zero-sum thinking.

This is the kind of conversation we're trying to move away from.

Respectfully, it seems a little silly to think that the only liberals in NH are out of state transplants. The same can be said about conservatives or libertarians. There are some that move to the state (free state project) in all ideologies. People have different ideologies, that is the whole point of this forum is to try to transcend political ideology and talk about the issues irrespective of politics. What "liberal policies" are ruining our way of life? Let's talk about the policies themselves rather than the fact that they're "liberal."
