When will I be able to afford to live on my own?

From "Welcome to The New Hampshire Forum!"

Go to the project

I have a full time job making great money. I don’t have a ton of bills and I do my best to save money. Working full time (& 2nd job), couponing, not shopping, traveling or eating out and I STILL cannot get close to be able to afford $2000+ per month on my own. You can’t even find a STUDIO APARTMENT for less than $2000 on the Seacoast. Most people need to find a roommate or consolidate space. NH has become unaffordable for people who grew up here. I will have to move out of New England to own my own home. At least those New Yorker’s got a great deal! SAD!

There are less expensive areas to live in NH. This means you may need to commute.

when governments allow public capital to be turned into private capital, the result is unequal access to services, quality of goods and services, and affordability. Austerity is the lie that keeps people from well-being.
